Saltspar is a free, independent information guide to travelling in Nova Scotia and the Maritimes. By using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Information, not advice

The route notes are general and kept deliberately conservative. They are not official guidance. Ferry and bus services, park and road conditions, tide times, seasons, opening dates and prices change, and the people who run them decide the details. Always check the operator, the road authority and the relevant tide table before you travel. We give no timetables and no prices on purpose.

No bookings

Saltspar does not sell, reserve or take payment for anything. Hotel entries are information only. Rates, availability, cancellation and any contract for a stay are between you and the hotel or the booking channel you choose.

Accuracy of hotel data

Hotel descriptions, facilities, ratings and photographs come from a third-party catalogue, are shown in English as delivered, and may be out of date or wrong. Straight-line distances are rough guides, not driving distances. The three questions on the hotel list narrow the list by recorded type, rating and facilities only.

The guide is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or inconvenience that results from relying on it, including missed ferries, closed roads, bad weather or unavailable rooms.
